This Council holds Ordinary meetings once a month and, if necessary, Extra-ordinary meetings will also be held to deal with urgent issues where a decision is required before the next Ordinary meeting.

All meetings are open to the public and are mainly held in the Annexe room of the Mechanics Institute in Kirkby Malzeard. The Ordinary meetings take place on the last Monday of the month, unless they coincide with a Bank Holiday or Xmas week, when they will usually be held on the previous Monday. Meetings are normally scheduled to start at 7.15pm.

The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council, where the Chair and Vice-Chair are elected, and Council procedural documents are re-adopted etc, is held immediately prior to the Ordinary monthly meeting in May.

A separate Annual Parish Meeting was held in both Kirkby Malzeard and in Laverton in 2019 rather than a combined meeting as in previous years. The meetings did not include verbal reports given in the past by representatives of Local Organisations as these were not felt to be particularly effective but instead written statements were made available which have been attached to the Minutes.

Whilst Chaired by the Parish Council Chairman, Parish Meetings are not Council meetings being better described as a 'residents meeting' where issues can be raised by anyone on the relevant Electoral Register for discussion. More information is provided in the Appendix to our Standing Orders document.

The Annual Parish Meeting for Laverton Parish 2020 will be held at Greygarth Chapel, Dallowgill on Monday March 23 commencing at 7pm.

The Annual Parish Meeting for Kirkby Malzeard Parish 2020 will be held at the Mechanics Institute, Kirkby Malzeard on Monday April 20 commencing at 7pm.
