Meetings

At the Annual meeting of the Parish Council held in June 2016 it was agreed that the Council would revert to holding Full meetings each month and if necessary Interim meetings would also be held to deal with issues such as planning applications, on which a decision was required before the next full meeting.

All meetings are open to the public and are normally held in the Annexe room of the Mechanics Institute in Kirkby Malzeard. The Full meetings will normally take place on the last Monday of the month, unless they coincide with a Bank Holiday, when they will usually be held on the previous Monday. Meetings are usually scheduled to start at 7.15pm.

Each year there is an Annual Parish Meeting, prior to the April Parish Council meeting, and in conjunction with it in 2018 an Exhibition was held on Saturday April 21 where Local Organisations presented displays and provided statements containing information on their activities. The meeting itself did not therefore include the verbal reports given in the past which were not felt to be particularly effective, with reference made to the written statements instead. Issues can be raised at this meeting by electors for discussion if wished.

The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council, where the Chair and Vice-Chair are elected, and Council procedural documents are re-adopted etc, is normally held in conjunction with the Full monthly meeting in May.
